Non-Medical Consult
A non-medical appointment is a telephone consultation or in-home appointment with a veterinarian that does not include a veterinarian-patient-client relationship (VPC). Because no VPC is established, no medications, veterinary care, or advice is given specifically for your pet. This consultation is for basic information about the disease or dying process, how to know when it’s time, how to determine if a pet is in pain or suffering, what things can be done to prepare, or an overview of the decision making process. It’s possible that the veterinarian may refer you to your regular veterinarian for additional medical care, if warranted.
